Since 1911, Catholics in the United States have responded to the worldwide cry of the poor by becoming Maryknoll missioners. The tradition continues today as women are compelled to join the Maryknoll Sisters and help build communities of faith throughout the world.

When you join the Maryknoll Sisters, you will be among women from many nations and diverse cultural backgrounds. Whether a Sister is also a nurse, doctor, teacher, social worker, catechist, theologian, agronomist, artist, journalist or community development specialist, we all work together with local people to accomplish what needs to be done.

Become a Sister
Women's empowerment, community building and action for justice and peace are just some of the ways in which Maryknoll Sisters work to Make God’s Love Visible. As a Maryknoll Sister, you might serve in war zones with refugees or minister to the sick, the elderly, orphans or people with AIDS. As you help people overseas build communities of faith, you will be translating the gospel of love into different languages and in different cultures.

Become a Sponsor
In Baptism each of us received the gift of faith. This faith is to be shared with others and not kept just for us. This sharing of faith is not an option but rather a responsibility. In this way all of us participate in the missionary vocation of the Church.

Continuing Education & Renewal Programs
The Maryknoll Mission Institute is an educational ministry, sponsored by the Maryknoll Sisters Congregation, which provides continuing education and renewal programs for missioners and others engaged in cross-cultural ministries in their local churches.
