During her first decades in Maryknoll, Sister Timothy worked in the kitchens that fed the Maryknoll family. She was later assigned to study and, in 1960, graduated from Mary Rogers College with a Bachelor of Education. She was missioned to Maryknoll School in Honolulu, Hawai’i where she taught fourth grade successfully for 26 years. Some of her students still correspond with her and others continue to inquire about her.
In 1986, Sister Timothy returned to the Sisters Center for Renewal. Soon she was at work in the Mail Room where she was promoted to Supervisor in September 1994, a post she held until her 2006 retirement. To her great joy, “everybody helped everybody else.”
Sr. Timothy’s favorite form of prayer is Petition. She prays for the needs of all who seek her prayer as well as for her own. When she does not receive the results she sought, her prayer life has taught her that, “God knew better.”
Daily she arises before 5 a.m. to distribute copies of the daily newspapers throughout the Center. That service and her prayers of petition occupy her days.
