Today is Giving Tuesday and the Maryknoll Sisters need your help feeding the poor around the world! What is Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.

Food is a basic human right. Yet, 795 million people in the world do not have enough food. For over 100 years, the Maryknoll Sisters have been providing meals to those in need, in places such as:

Guatemala

Sister Connie Pospisil, M.M. runs a nutrition center for malnourished children between the ages of 6 months to 5 years old.

California

In California, Sister Cecilia Santos, M.M. volunteers at a food pantry, they serve 500 needy each month and almost half are children.

Tanzania

Sister Marion Hughes, M.M. runs a support group that provides a healthy nutrition program and medical care for HIV+ children and their caregivers.
