Sister Armeline Sidoine

Sister Armeline was born in Pointe-Noire, Republic of Congo. She went to Victor Augagneur High School. She earned a Bachelor of Art, Science, and Education degree from Marien Ngouabi University, Brazzaville in 2003. From 2003 to 2005, she attended the Catholic Institute of Religious studies in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Sister Armeline entered the Maryknoll Sisters on September 13th, 2015, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where she was living and working at that time. She pronounced First Vows on January 7th, 2018, at the Maryknoll Sisters Center, Maryknoll – New York. She received her first overseas mission assignment to the China Region in 2019.

She studied Cantonese at the Chinese University from 2019 to 2021. While studying the language, she did prison ministry, assisting mainly Portuguese speaking inmates. She also volunteered at the St. Paul’s Parish with poor and street people activities and Asylum seeker families. After her two-year language study program, she started a full-time ministry as a Pastoral Sister at Holy Cross Church in Hong Kong Island where she does pastoral work with parishioners and migrant workers.
