Current Ministry Location: Maryknoll Sisters Center-Maryknoll, NY

Faithmary Munyeki is from Kenya, East Africa! While working as a computer teacher in Tanzania her path crossed with a few Maryknoll Sisters. She was struck by the Sisters simplicity and ordinariness as well as their missionary spirit-to make God’s love visible everywhere and throughout all of creation. This began the awakening of her desire to serve others, especially the marginalized and powerless!

She has spent the last five years on her journey of discernment with the Maryknoll Sisters, fully immersing herself in the Maryknoll Culture, getting to know our Sisters and what it means to devote your life to mission. During her integration phase, she spent time in Chicago accompanying asylum seekers, working in a local food pantry and engaging in online tutoring when the Pandemic hit.

Sister Faithmary says, “I appreciate the support of our donors who give to the Sisters because that is how I was able to find out about the Maryknoll Sisters in Tanzania. Your donations allow me and the other Sisters to share the presence of God’s love around the world.”

On August 8th, 2021 Sister Faithmary made her First Vows at the Maryknoll Sisters Center, Maryknoll, NY.

Shortly after making her vows Sister Faithmary received her first overseas mission assignment to Brazil. There she will begin her journey by studying the Portuguese language.
