Sister Dee Smith, Guatemala

Sister Dee runs Proyecto Vida (Project Life) in Guatemala. It’s an organization that supports people with HIV+ and AIDS. Proyecto Vida provides people with care, comfort, dignity, and support that they would often not receive elsewhere. The organization also works to help re-integrate people into society after a diagnosis and treatment plan. One of the biggest challenges people with HIV+ face is maintaining proper nutrition. Due to extreme poverty in the region, many of the people– and their children –suffer from malnutrition. Learn more here!
